Deviceless dowsing is a natural step to Map Dowsing. Even fingerless and thumbless would work better, because it is good in map dowsing to have both hands available. I have done map dowsing on a limited basis and used either a bobber or a pendulum. While doing it I was wishing I had both hands free.
