pendulum and rocks

A friend and I were kind of experimenting with pendulums, about which we don't know much. A while back he'd taught me that if you tie a paper clip to a piece of string, the paper clip will tend to go back and forth over a man's hand and in circles over a woman's. I hadn't believed him, but sure enough it worked. Today in the store, there were lots of rocks and some pendulums. So I picked a pendulum that I like a lot and held it over some of the rocks. It made big loopy circles over the rose quartz that and back and forth lines over some of the other stones. Then another friend happened into the store and we wound up sitting on the floor talking, and he told us that you could use pendulums to ask questions. So I asked questions about my travel plans -- and it kind of nixed all of my ideas, in favor of staying where I am and doing my work. I'd like to know more about pendulums and how they work. While there is no doubt ample information available online and books in the very store where I was today, I always seem to get the best info here in Tribe.

I just now am seeing this so I apologize for the late reply.
Take a pendulum in your dominant hand. Ask it to show you what yes is, ask it to show you what no is.
You can also get an "indifferent" answer. Be careful because you can control it...it is important to let your higher self hold it....so to speak.
Ask what is for the better good...not what your ego thinks is for the better good...
You can also draw a little chart for your pendulum
Draw a half circle and make it into pieces of a pie. You can then create a diagram for your questions.
    For instance.
If on either end you have a piece of pie that says "critical", then, inward of that on both sides pies that say "Severe", then inward of this, on both sides a piece of pie that says "mild," and inward of this, in the center of the half circle, a small piece of pie that says "neutral".
You can use this diagram to find how vitamin deficient you are for instance, or if how heavy a health concern should be.
This is only the tip of the iceberg however :o)
    Good luck!

Ps. the pendulum swinging over the rocks could have been a clearing of energy that the rocks have absorbed on their pathway to get here...it also could have been the rocks trying to tell you that you need their energy...I would say you should go pick yourself up some rose quartz!
